Memorial Day and Memories of Dad

My dad, Luther A. Douglas, who was the captain of a B-17 Bomber during WWII

Memorial Day always brings back a lot of memories of Dad. He'd learned to fly when he was 16 and flew planes all through the war, starting with the Canadian RAF until Pearl Harbor Day and then he flew a B-17 Bomber for the rest of the war, on mission after mission.

Well decorated, he never boasted or even mentioned his medals. And he didn't talk much about his war experiences, but the few stories he did tell illustrated what an amazing thing all our military do, now and then. They are all to be honored, this day and every day.

Do you have memories to share?
