Tagging--I'm tagged

Nancy P at Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life tagged me.

These are the rules:
1) Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.2) Share 7 facts about yourself.3) Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.4) Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here are my facts:

1. My favorite breed of dog is the basenji. I'm on my second one and don't know if I'll be up for a third (tough, independent, somewhat crazy breed).

2. I can still chew my own toenails while they are still on my toes, but choose not to do so.

3. Sad songs on the radio make me cry, which can make driving very difficult.

4. Although I grew up in ski country, I prefer to ice skate. Virtual treason.

5. I adore doing things I've never done before. Last year, I did Thanksgiving (the works) for the first time. This year, for Christmas, I'm doing a lamb roast (anybody have a recipe?).

6. I'm a natural red-head, which means, according to some scientists, 2 things: I'm the last of the genetic material of Neanderthals and I'm about to go extinct.

7. For three months, once, I was a vegan. I kept waking up smelling meat with my stomach growling. After I read that the Dalai Lama, on the advice of his doctors, ate meat, I went back to being an omnivore.

Ah, now to tag other bloggers. Unfortunately, I'm fairly new to this blog world so can only think of one person who I know well enough to tag, and know probably hasn't been tagged recently: Kathy at Well Placed Words. Other fellow bloggers, if you'd like to be tagged by me, let me know!

Boy, are you limber, Conda! Probably best to refrain from doing what you can, though, at least in public. :)

That's true about red hair and Neandrathals? Interesting!

Interesting list, Conda! You lasted longer as a vegan than I ever could. :) I'd never heard of the basenji before but googled them. What a pretty breed.

Yes, Nancy, some (rather whacky, I suspect) scientists has recently said red heads carry the last of the Neanderthal genes. Explains a lot, doesn't it?

And Jen, basenjis are gorgeous. They don't bark. Don't be fooled. They yodel, howl and scream like infants in agony (neighbors have called police). They chew forever (most of my sofa cushions are destroyed, much of the carpet is gone). They are aloof to strangers and not a breed to have around small children (that curly tail is irresistible). Be afraid, be very afraid.

Hi conda.

I agree with Nancy, you are limber!

I had never heard of basenjis either and googled it. Love those big ears and that they yodel. I've got a yapper and I think I'd take yodeling over that.

Be afraid, be very afraid. I am! :)

Of course, family man, you've never heard a basenji yodel--very loud. An amazing sound coming out of a fairly small dog. A neighbor once told me that the yodel sounded like a fox yowling--makes sense as basenjis are closely related to wild dogs.

And teaching exercise classes sure helps with being limber!

I've been tagged, eh? Okeedokee. I'll get to it as soon as I finish the Christmas cookies.
What fun!

Lamb is delicious. Use a sprig of rosemary...which reminds me, mine's still outside. That means, since I'm in Idaho, and we've had lots of nights way below freezing, that it's likely dead. (So you can't use mine, Conda.)
Oh, and slivers of garlic.

Thanks, Kathy, for the recipe! I need all the help I can get!

Although we're also having salmon, just in case, which everybody in the family likes.
