Let Freedom Ring!

It's early here, so our flag is not yet up!

And the flowers are appropriate because the vase comes from Bruce's mom whose birthday is tomorrow. Happy B'day Dorothy! And it's appropriate because the most important part of our freedoms is the freedom to express ourselves any way we want! This includes all my blogger friends, no matter where you may live--and ain't the 'net a wondrous thing?

What are your unique ways of expression? How do you celebrate the freedom in your life?

CONDA - I concur: the net is a wondrous thing. It brings us all together on the Blogosphere, for one thing, and enhances our ability to communicate.

I celebrate the freedom of making abstract art, and the freedom of getting to know people from all over the world.

I celebrate finding commonality with my fellow bloggers, like you!

And of course, I celebrate freedom of speech and religion, which I never take for granted.

How do I celebrate? Well, yesterday morning I sang the national anthem to our dog. And she didn't growl or howl.

I celebrate the joy of having good friends, on the net and off.

I'm afraid I too often take our freedoms for granted, save when they are threatened or when I read of those who die because they dared to speak out against tyranny.

It is a great freedom to be able to disagree, loudly and in public, with our leaders, with little fear of retribution.

I love the flowers. Are they from your own garden? Hey, the 4th is the time for bursts of colors and you've just shared one with us.

That's true, Helen, burst of color are appropriate! And yes, this is another arrangement from my own garden.

Good question. Blogging springs to mind, of course, but following it is the thought that maybe I don't do enough. Thanks for putting that thought there.

I agree, the Net is a wondrous thing.

Excellent question. I guess people would say that I'm a rebel of sorts. I read, write, and do and say mostly what I want, and I don't take static easily from the so called mainline establishment. I do my home work before I go to the doctor. I know my tax situation before I visit my accountant. I handle my own real estate matters. I hate kitchen appliance and car salesmen, know it alls and tightwads. I don't react too well when someone tries to pull the wool over my eyes because of their own ignorance. I cheer for the helpless and the underdog. I am an animal lover. I love the beach, the mountains and people with interesting personalities, and great movies. I believe in the Constitution as it is written, and I believe in a fair fight. I am a veteran, and I live everyday with honor and respect. I hate people who save money by transferring their costs to me, or to others. I hate liars, cheats and thieves. I believe that honesty is the best policy as long as it doesn't unnecessarily hurt someone else. I pay my own way. And, most importantly, I live to make my Queen happy. In a nutshell, these things are how I celebrate my life.

Happy trails.

Writing is one way I express myself. I use my blog and the stories I write. Sometimes it's cutting flowers, hanging pictures, and nice meal that says I love you to my family. Making my environment of peace and inviting.

Expressing oneself can happen in so many ways.

Thanks for the lovely post Conda. :-)

Love how you justified the flowers - especially with the freedom to express ourselves how we want. Isn't that a beautiful thing? I can't imagine living in a country where my voice is stifled.

Kathy, so true, you can speak and sing freely--and well!

Dave, your blogs are a wonderful expression of your own unique voice, a glorious way to celebrate a freedom.

Thanks Dave, for sharing your complexity. You are expressing and honoring our freedom every day!

Sia--yes, once we start to look, everywhere we see ways of just being and sharing ourselves--so true!

Caryn, I have lived in a "benevolent" dictatorship and it was malevolent.
