Here's what I've been doing recently instead of...much of everything else, save teaching exercise classes and playing with the new puppy. I'm learning an editing program for next weekend's i48--a local film festival in which you have 48 hours to produce a 3-6 minute film.
What have I learned so far from this besides how to use the program? Writing counts. I didn't bother to script any of this footage as it was all "practice," I just did the exercises. But even a little scripting would have helped the entire process. Saved me time and effort. Writing's often the most important part.
Our i48 film will be scripted!

Great Exercise video! I like how it cut to your feet sometimes.
I'm glad you're enjoying your new puppy!
I hope my last comment went through. I had to send it twice! :)
Great video! I like how the camera focuses on your feet sometimes.
I'm glad you're enjoying your new puppy :)
Horay! You joined the multimedia channel too. Post it on YouTube and Metacafe. And I agree, scripting is important.
Bargain with the Devil
You're just learning this?
I know what you mean about the scripting, but apart from that it looks so professional. You seem to be hitting all the points.
Aubrie--yes, it did post and thanks for noticing what are called intercuts.
Enid--great suggestions for posting, thanks! And yes, it would've been a quicker edit if it'd been scripted!
Jesse, thanks! I should have clarified that I used to be a film editor back when it WAS FILM, but now I'm learning the computer program for editing the electronic images--MUCH FASTER.
I'd say you're on your way to becoming a pro. Good luck in the contest!
I would exercise with you! I thought it was good, maybe a bit more of a smile at the end. And maybe make it a little longer. I could see a series of these.
Way to go, Conda!

I just found you, and like this blog. Now I'm going to check out your other one!! I'll be back.
Thanks, Carol--and i48 is a lot of work and a lot of fun!
Conda:
I see you've learned your lessons well. That was a great short film. I liked the music, the empty room for a set, the lighting, the music and the scene changes. The dialog was well done too, considering it wasn't scripted. It almost made me want to exercise. Almost. LOL
Happy trails
Helen, it was supposed to be longer, next one will be. Another reason to script, even something as simple as this!
Ann, first, welcome to my blog! And thanks for following both my blogs, even though I do cross post sometimes! I've visited yours and will be back again!
Swu--HA!
Great work!!
Scripting would have helped in the making, you mean? Didn't show in the finished product. Very well done.
Thanks, Jennifer--it was so fun!
Dave--that's exactly what I meant--it would have shortened the filming and editing time considerably to have a script and the ending would have been better. I was tired by the end.
Great job Conda!
Cool video, Conda. :-) You did a great job.
Talli--thanks!
Claire--and it was so much fun!
