A Dark and Stormy Day

It's the Devil Dog of the Serengeti!

And it's a dark and stormy day here--I'm hoping for Trick or Treaters so I don't eat all the candy!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

And a question for my friend bloggers in other countries: do you celebrate Halloween? With kiddies dressed up and all the fixin's?

Not a single kid has shown up at our house for about five years now. Sad. They all go to the mall where the stores give them candy. Times have sure changed since I was a kid and we soaped everyone's windows.

Happy Halloween back to you.

Swu--

That is sad. We get lots of kids, about 40 last night, and it's a lot of fun. And most are better behaved than you were!

Although they can't seem to resist smashing the pumpkins in the middle of the street...

Why do I always feelthat I've not got all I could have got from Halloween?
Three sets of callers, one largish, well-organised group of teenagers, and two pairs of very young kids - on with dads - but it is definitely dropping off, and I do fear for the very young and unaccompanied.

We had around 100 callers. Almost all accompanied by an adult (quite a few in costume themselves), and all, even the teenagers, polite and friendly.
No, I wasn't asleep, dreaming.
I have such fun answering the door, asking what the costumes are.
These are kids who take less from the basket than I hand out.
Fun, but a LOT different from when I was young.
By the way, Cleo would eat that photo if she had the chance!

Dave, yes, I fear too for unaccompanied little ones. Luckily that doesn't seem to happen in our neighborhood. And I'm fortunate to live in a place that still has good, strong, safe neighborhoods!

Yeah, both Bruce and I enjoy the holiday--of course it takes both of us to hand out candy and restrain Cleo!
